Noise Assessment Services in Australia

Noise assessment combines personal dosimetry and sound level measurement to evaluate worker exposure against the 85 dB(A) LAeq,8h exposure standard and 140 dB(C) peak limit. Personal noise dosimeters worn on the shoulder measure cumulative dose across a full shift, capturing variability in mobile and multi-task roles.

Complementary octave-band analysis identifies dominant frequencies to guide hearing protection selection and engineering control design. Results feed into noise maps that visualise exposure zones across the workplace.

OHConnect practitioners use Class 1 or Class 2 instrumentation calibrated to IEC 61672 and report in accordance with AS/NZS 1269 Parts 1 through 4.

When You Need This Service

  • Workers report difficulty hearing normal conversation at arm's length
  • Health surveillance audiometry identifies a standard threshold shift
  • New equipment, processes, or building modifications change the noise profile
  • Baseline exposure data is required for a new workplace or operation
  • A regulator issues a noise-related improvement notice
  • Hearing protection adequacy needs verification
