Indoor Air Quality Assessment Services in Australia

Indoor air quality (IAQ) assessment evaluates the thermal comfort, ventilation adequacy, and chemical and biological contaminant levels in enclosed workspaces. Direct-reading instruments measure CO2, temperature, relative humidity, total VOCs, particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), and carbon monoxide in real time.

Elevated CO2 concentrations above 1,000 ppm indicate inadequate fresh air supply and are a common driver of occupant complaints. IAQ investigations may also include microbiological sampling for mould spores and bacteria where water damage or HVAC contamination is suspected.

OHConnect IAQ practitioners follow AIRAH DA07 and ASHRAE 62.1 guidance, providing actionable recommendations for ventilation optimisation and contaminant source control.

When You Need This Service

  • Occupants report headaches, fatigue, or respiratory symptoms (sick building syndrome)
  • CO2 levels exceed 1,000 ppm during occupied hours
  • Water damage or visible mould is present in the building
  • A new fitout, carpet installation, or painting generates VOC complaints
  • Baseline IAQ data is needed for green building certification (NABERS, Green Star)
  • Post-remediation verification is required after mould or contamination events
